Mixed Media, Sculptural Art, Installations

Collaborating with artists in another country is a challenging but a unique and highly creative exercise, one that is full of surprises and joyful experiences. I am delighted to be part of the Pleiades Art International Art Group.

Artist Statement

There is no one medium I prefer to work in: medium(s) are chosen to suit the art projects I undertake, learning new skills along the way as required. The inspiration for my art comes from the environments I live in, my interest in indigenous history, other artists, and ‘the media’. In the past five years I have exhibited twice in local galleries, most recently in May this year, and then in 2018 in Lawrence Kansas with our Pleiades Art Group. I am delighted to be part of the Pleiades Project: an International Artist Collaboration.

Bio

Currently I am living in a mudbrick house on an eight-acre bush block in Harcourt Central Victoria Australia. I retired here in 2016. l grew up on farms in country South Australia where I undertook my primary and secondary education. Subsequently I studied Occupational Therapy (OT) in Perth Western Australia. My OT work took me to various locations through-out Australia and overseas. As my children grew up and, as time and energy permitted, I undertook various community-based art courses. Most recently, in 2019, I completed a year-long Art Pathways Course at a local Adult Education Centre. My first experience of working with a group of artists was when I lived in North Eastern Melbourne and joined a local group called ‘Thou Art Mum’; a group of female artists and mums who held exhibitions several times a year. I left this group and connected with the Pleiades Art Group when I moved to Harcourt. What I love most about my art practice is that there is always something new to learn.
